Cocktail of the Week: Penderyn Catch





Thursday is the new Friday for the CellarVie Wines team and that’s all because of our ‘Cocktail of the Week’, so why not kick-off the weekend (of sorts) with the Penderyn Catch!
 
As part of our ‘Spirit of the Month’, the Penderyn Catch is predominantly made from Penderyn Welsh Malt Whisky and is a lively number to be enjoyed as the days get longer and more importantly warmer.
 
Did you know the origin of the word cocktail is widely disputed, but one theory is that a cocktail was considered a morning eye-opener hence its name. Some speculate that a cocktail is a metaphor for a rooster (cock) heralding the light of day.
 
Ingredients
50 ml Penderyn Welsh Malt Whiskey
 
5 ml caramel syrup
 
5 ml vanilla syrup
 
Cinnamon stick
 
Method
 
Pour all ingredients over ice cubes into a rocks glass. Stir - do not shake - and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
