Celebrated World Cup winner lists vineyard cottage on Airbnb

Barcelona football star Andrés Iniesta took to twitter to announce the listing of his vineyard on Airbnb. Not the first celebrity to try his hand at winemaking, he joins a long list of fellow celebs such as Drew Barrymore, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (whose award winning rosé wine is now available at M&S) and French actor and filmmaker Gérard Depardieu.

A family-run vineyard where terroir is most important, they make the most of the microclimate of Fuentealbilla and the quality of the grapes and the land to produce their wine.
Now, for €125 (or just £90), you can rent the beautiful house located within the vineyard, in the little village of Fuentealbilla in Castile-La-Mancha, Spain.

It is available to book here and, writing on Airbnb, the FC Barcelona player says; “We will welcome you to our charming country house, open for the first time, where you will benefit from a delicious breakfast, peace and quiet, a warm hearth, an inviting bed and all the fresh air you can breathe”.

The central midfielder scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup Final against the Netherlands. Spain won the World Cup for the very first time and Iniesta was given the accolade of man of the match (we’ve included a clip of his goal at the bottom of this article so you can relive that crucial moment in Spanish football history).

With simple décor and one double bedroom, a kitchen and lounge area, Iniesta’s cottage is beautiful and just the place for a couple to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. According to his profile on Airbnb, the stay will include a tour of the celebrated footballer’s vineyard, which, as Iniesta says, is very close to his heart: “While I may be known for my football passion, we look forward to sharing with you our other passions, like that for nature and the exquisite libations our vineyards create”.
