Santa Teresa is an independent, family-owned company with more than two hundred years of tradition and one so passionate about rugby that they have their own team at the Hacienda!

The estate-grown sugar cane is picked from the fields and taken to the distillery in 24 hours, to ensure that the quality in the cane is not lost. During the process, a dark and thick honey is created with which Santa Teresa produce their rums.

The flagship of the Santa Teresa Hacienda in Venezuela, the Santa Teresa Gran Reserva Golden Rum is created from rums of the highest quality and aged up to five years in oak. A mature, smooth and light rum with a lot of character, its fruity taste and strong notes of freshness combined with wood give a firm and smooth feel to the palate. It’s ideal to mix with sodas and juices or try with our cocktail suggestion, the Columbus Cocktail.

Colour: golden amber
Nose: fruity and mature, with notes of sugar cane
Palate: Fruity but mature. Smooth with a light, silky body.

Black Cow Vodka is the world’s first pure milk vodka. Yes, you did read that correctly, it’s made from just milk! Wanting to diversify the produce from his dairy herd, British cow farmer Jason Barber set creating a vodka from the milk from his cows after learning about a nomadic Siberian tribe who distil vodka from fermented mares’ milk. Vodka was the obvious choice for him as it’s the only drink that doesn’t give him a hangover!

Black Cow is a family owned business. Jason sells his milk to his cousins who use the curds to make award winning cheddar and return the whey to Jason so he can distil the Black Cow Vodka. This whey is fermented into a beer and the milk sugar is converted into alcohol with a special yeast.

Black Cow Vodka is distilled, blended, triple-filtered and bottled by hand and each batch makes about three thousand bottles. The vodka took three years of experimentation to create, and it is sustainable and British-produced.

The milk differentiates it from other vodkas producing a much smoother, creamier character of vodka. Even Daniel Craig and Liz Hurley are said to be fans!

BBQ Spatchcock Piri-Piri Chicken

Summer has come to a close and autumn is well and truly on its way. Blustering winds, cooler temperatures and swiftly shortening days mean it will soon be time to wrap up warm and to make the most of the wonderful autumn produce on offer. Time to say goodbye to those fresh, summer whites and replace them with the warmer, more robust reds frequently associated with colder temperatures.
