El Dorado 12 Year Old Rum

50ml El Dorado 12 Year Old
30-40ml cloudy apple juice
Sugar syrup
Add cubed ice, a dash of bitters and 5ml sugar syrup to a rocks glass and stir. The add 50ml El Dorado 12 Year Old and stir again. Add 30-40ml cloudy apple juice and garnish with a cherry and an orange zest.

The foundation of Demerara Rum production goes as far back as the 1950s, when distilling was introduced into the new territories by the British.
The unique name for the rum, ‘El Dorado’, is rooted in Guyana history. Motivated by the legend of a City of Gold and a king whose body was dusted with gold, early explorers searched the ancient heartland of old Guiana in search of ‘El Dorado’ (The Golden One).
Named ‘the golden favourite’, the internationally acclaimed El Dorado 12 Year Old typifies the smooth mellow sweetness of Demerara Rums. The unique flavour and taste of the rum is largely due to the tropical climate of this lush country of Guyana – which translates from its Amerindian name ‘Land of many waters’ – and the three centuries of rum production along the banks of the Demerara River.
A blend of specially selected aged rums, the youngest being no less than 12 years old, El Dorado 12 Year Old is a combination of the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills and the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, blended to perfection and aged in old bourbon oak casks.

Savour it straight, on the rocks, in a classic Mai Tai cocktail or in Treacle.

Tasting notes:
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar. Round, mellow, full bodied palate with rich flavours of fruit and spice. The finish is delightful, elegant and dry.

0.75 oz. Agave Nectar
0.75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Lime Twist
Mix Tequila Don Julio Blanco, agave nectar and lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with a lime twist.
*Note: Best served when Tequila Don Julio Blanco is left overnight in the freezer.
