An excellent Château, owned by the Fabre family, situated between Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe, which we have followed for many years.
From an excellent Château owned by the revered Fabre family, situated between Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe, this classic Bordeaux oak-aged blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot is deliciously concentrated with a lingeringly ripe cherry character.
The blend is typical for the region, usually 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Traditionally vinified and aged in oak barriques, 20% of which are new. Fine, aromatic, with a ripe cherry character enlivened by liquorice and vanilla. Supple tannins and a firm, dry intensity are supported by an excellent balance that makes this rich and traditional claret a a very suitable festive red.
"Now just showing some maturity (2006 vintage), the wine has dense tannins and a firm, dry character. It is concentrated, the black fruits laced with fruit skins and acidity." 90 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine
